Before all of Xanga gets their panties in a twist, I need to make a disclaimer concerning this post. Namely I am not advocating a ranking or preference of body types. I believe there is room for all body types on this planet, in our solar system, and even in our galaxy. Each body is heavenly and has merits all its own. Diversity makes life interesting and exciting.

Andromeda the desert lynx
Ursa major the big bear
Orion’s belt epsilon, delta, zeta
Constellations of stars sweep
As seasons and comet showers pass
Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars
Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus
Spin around our sun
Join celestial bodies
Comets and asteroids and meteors
Nebulae and galaxies
In that very crowded void of space
Here is a list poem on the topic of celestial bodies for the Big-Giant-Back-to-School-3Month Scavenger Hunt. The prompt is found in the Poetry 101 section.

I completely love this, dear. Only you could have written it. I look through your 'looking-at' eyes and am never disappointed.
So just now, 8PM out local time, Venus and the Moon are just about eating each other in the darkening western sky. I've seen two(2) Venus transits of the sun in my life. Yeah, just lucky, I am.
Thought about posting a spoof about the "up-coming Venus transit of the Moon', but then I remembered that I'm just a ghost-xangan. Waiting for them to open the box-office in ordwer to pay up.
I do remember gazing at Saturn just barely discernible as a ringed celestial body, on the highest power of Sear's "good" child's telescope way back in, like '56. Such a thrill.
My father had a telescope and I married a man that is a space geek... so we had a telescope for years - finally sold it when he realized that google could show him everything he wanted to see at much better resolution! I'll wait to read your Venus transit spoof - I'm hoping you've written it and are just waiting on the portal to open... Have you tried to post? You might be surprised!
I am so picky about my poetry that I'm always surprised how much I love yours. One of these days I'm going to stop being surprised!
Hehe! I love poetry of all kinds - it is sort of like chocolate! (I do have preferences but I don't turn down chocolate!)
Cool!
I'm glad you like it!!
Sorry but all I can think of is "If I said you had a celestial body would you hold it against me?" Bad I know...
There has to be something encoded in the XY combination... hehe!
There are good finds in this celestial poem
Love
Michel
Thanks~ I'm sure everyone can find something to like when discussing the cosmos and all that it entails.
I've been listening to an amazing lecture series teaching physics to non-scientists and I've been spending an inordinate amount of time for a layman lately thinking about the speed of light and how far it is to Andromeda!
Fascinating topic. I love to look at the sky maps and contemplate the distance. There is an app on my phone that based on where I'm located will show me the night sky...
So there doesn't appear to be a "like" option on the new Xanga? Oddly there is on regular WP. Maybe a feature to be added. In either case, I like this poem!
You and everyone else is searching for the like button! We have (I think) made our desire for a like button clear to the Xanga administrators. Thanks you for liking this one! (I know you are not a poetry lover so this makes it all the sweeter!)
Neat poem. Only you could have written this with such excellence.
Thank you Zakiah! You say the nicest things!
Wonderful. You are doing awesome on the prompts! peace always
This one is more difficult than the last - it is really making me work! I'm glad you like these efforts!
It is weird I do not recaive any replies . Are they made to stay on our sites and not sent Do you receive replies, Val?
Love
Michel
I don't know. I think you just have to go back and check. That is what I'm doing...
Wonderful!
Thank you!!
Val, I noticed my response was excepted immediately; it did not have to be approved. How do I do this so I don't have approve messages? Thanks for any information you can provide.
Once you "approve" a comment, then every subsequent comment from that person is automatically approved. You have the option of Disapproving at any time...
Hi Val! Since I can't blog for now I *did* compose a typically spoofy little thing. In your style. I'll leave it here as a comment, and if you ever find yourself too busy to 'look at' something de jure, feel free to post it here as a 'guest' post.
Was fun thinking about your style while writing it/ JS
Looking at the Pearly Gates
There's no denying
Closer to dying
With every passing day
So my last dime
Goes to Pasture-Prime
To ease me on my way
Two new product offerings from the thoughtful folks at 'Pasture-prime' are now a staple of my Golden Age diet. "From our pastoral bucolic fields to your toothless gums: Count on us, right up until the End'
The first, which I schpritz daily on everything from fries to ice cream, is 'Catch-up' brand Ketchup. Made from garden-fresh tomatoes, it is generously spiked with another organic compound, a secret mix of pure, ozone-free chemicals: Carbon, Hydrogen, and Nitrogen, arranged 'just so' in the PP lab. And yes, those 'to-do' lists you never seemed to finish? Well, with 'Catch-up' on duty I now need to 'feel free to use the other side of the page' for my lists. Yes, it's that good.
And the second product, (why nobody else thunk of it), is 'Centrum Beer'.
A nice buzz-inducing 10% alcohol by volume is just the start, because this beer, brewed with our older minds in mind, contains 100% of every vitamin you ever heard of. from 'A' to 'Z. Niacin, Thiamine, Dopamine, 2-phenyl 4-ethanolamine... who needs to read the fine print; It's in there!
And so I shall go out with a bang, not a whimper. I've already included them in my will. Five percent of anything that's left after settling debts. Yes, I may be past my prime, but the good folks at Pasture Prime are there for me; even remember my birthday with an email.
Ok, I'm late for breajfast: Two Centrums and a slice of toast liberally schmeared with 'Catch-up' Look out, world!
You really cracked me up! Here I am at work trying to read this on the sly and you have me chuckling... I appreciate the nod and all - I'm wondering if the PP products have anything "extra" in the men's formula or do they leave that out to keep the price down?
My panties aren't in a twist...In fact, I can't find them...hmmm....must have something to do with my birthday!

Love your poem and this post!
Yes, you are so so SO right!!! Diversity makes life interesting and exciting! There is even room in the universe for a weirdo like me!
HUGS and you are bright star in the SH!!!
Haha! Going commando? I think you are pretty darned normal for a xangan! hehe! Hope you are still celebrating the B'day - I try to stretch the celebration out for a good week or longer!
Neato from us space buffs!
Hehe! Yeah, that is my life - I'm surrounded too! hehe!
I was Business Administration student in college, but they made me take other courses--one was astronomy.
However, Val, despite your disclaimer, I immediately thought of my wife's heavenly body. lol
frank
As you should! I'm sure that Norma is the center of your universe...
regarding 'men's' versions of Pasture-Prime products, the kid I spoke to in marketing just now quoted the late Mr. Rodgers, that is, boys are fancy on the outside, girls, on the inside. And most of our clients, he explained, are no longer fancy neither within nor without. Simple economics I guess.
I'm tickled you enjoyed it/JS
HAHA! I'm going to look that quote up! Mr. Rogers? Really? Anyway I do enjoy your posts and comments - you are a great wit!
HI! I'm just back to see if you commented to my comment and to see what you said!
You did, thank you! And, yes, I'm still celebrating!!!
HUGS!!!
If only Xanga could fix the comment link thing - it would be nearly perfect if we could see the replies!
