  • Looking Spammed

One of the things I've liked about the new xanga was the lack of spam. Well, I guess my spamless days are over. In the last week I've gotten several comments. They were the kind of mumbo jumbo things that made me think the person commenting had not read my posts. But what really and truly disturbed me was their screen names: "donald Trump and Kkk endorsement", "popefrancis- donald trump- antichrist", "Donald Trump Agenda For Presidency", "donald trump Antichrist" and "donald trump announcement today". There are more but you get the idea. I have 54 spam comments in my spam folder and most have been added in the last week and not a one of them has a xanga page. Anyway I guess what I'm saying is that even the spammers have gone political! To combat that I'm going to post some random stuff just for the heck of it!

    1. My coworker Elmer Fudd managed to get 2 deer. Because they were smaller ones I don't get one for myself. He however, is going to gift me with a bit of venison! Guess what we'll be having for Christmas dinner!

    2. We are officially undergoing an "Organizational Analysis and Design Process" also known as the OAD Process (pronounced O - add) for our department. Several people are nervous. Yes, I'm one of them.

    3. The movie Fantastical Beasts premiered on Friday. I really wanted to see it but there was no way I was going to the late late showing. So it is on the schedule for this week. Maybe tonight.

    4. I've got my menu for Thanksgiving set: Turkey. We are traditionalists. You won't find chicken or ham on the table. As for the rest of the dishes it looks like we'll be having real mashed potatoes, homemade turkey gravy, green bean casserole, roasted carrots, sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie (traditional), pumpkin eggnog pie, black and green olives. Possibly some other additions depending on what the boys provide... Probably beer.

    5. Sparky has been binge watching the BBC series Sherlock. I've started joining him. It is growing on me. I'm not a big fan of the actor who plays Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) but I do like the actor who plays Dr. Watson (Martin Freeman).

  • Venison for Christmas dinner sounds truly elegant! Not sure why you're nervous about the OAD Process, but I hope it comes out ok. Sorry you're getting so much spam in Xanga -- I've not see any so far.

    • I'm getting a third of a deer tomorrow! It will be mostly ground but a couple packages of steaks and some chops. I am nearly drooling and Sparky did a happy dance! The OAD is a shift in the way things are done. Bottom line, too many people in management and too much duplication of effort. There is writing on the wall but no one knows who the message is for... stress ensues.

  • On FB I've had several middle-aged men ask to be friends with me. We have No friends in common, and the one whose page I looked at had no posts. So I got rid of them all, and had my daughter change my posting from public to friends only. So far, so good. Your Thanksgiving meal sounds good. Ours will be similar.

  • My boys will both be home for Thanksgiving and we plan to see Fantastical Beasts some time while they are here.

I like pumpkin pie (traditional), but have never tried the eggnog variety. Can you post the recipe? Thanks.

Sorry about the.spam. I hardly ever check email, but so. Far my Xanga, which I think is set to contacts only, has not seen any. The last spam I saw was sitting on rice and rolled in seaweed paper,

    • Haha! Spam sushi isn't bad... I suppose I can post a photo of the pie with the recipe... If you like custard pie then you will love this one!!!

  • Joyouswind and I saw the movie last Saturday, and we'll probably see it again this Saturday with Bookmark61. He'll be getting home Thursday evening, so we'll be having the Thanksgiving feast for supper this year and won't make it to your place. I hope you can join us in K'zoo on Sunday, though.

    • Sparky says he's all in for the group sing. All we need is an address or gps coordinates and a time we need to be there!

  • We just watched 'Finding Dory' on dvd. Such a cute movie.

Sounds like your Thanksgiving is going to be delicious.

Hope your analysis turns out in your favor!
    Blessings!

    • Finding Dory is on the list of rentals from the library. Every time we want to rent it they are out - we need to time it not on a weekend. Change is inevitable. I'm just going to ride the waves and try to keep my head above water!

  • Knock on wood but so far I've not been spammed. Probably because few know I have a blog here. ;-)

I'll have to report later what daughter chose for our dinner, I know turkey was put in our refrigerator yesterday. Just the breast though.

    • I have made just the turkey breast before and it is good - however my family favors the dark meat so having just the breast makes a majority sad. As for the spam, I believe it is because I have my blog on public - so that my mother and others in the family can have access without a xanga subscription. If I went private I'm certain the spam would cease but currently I'm not willing to go that route. I just put up with the spam.
