Looking Luckier
Today is Friday the 13th. This might cause some folks to bury their heads in their bed pillows and vow to stay home from work. I've always thought the 13th to be a day like any other. As far as luck goes, this day is as lucky or not as I choose to make it. And today I'm feeling mighty lucky! We are headed to Indianapolis for a mini-vacation. We are planning to do some geocaching if the weather cooperates but if it is raining we will head to the Art Museum and take in some culture.
Saturday will find us at Panera's using my special birthday reward and attending a geocaching Event! After wolfing down my breakfast treat, Sparky and I will grab a puzzle cache nearby thus completing the requirements for a special Pi Day badge. Our agenda includes spending a good portion of the day Saturday at the Indianapolis Comic Con. Besides doing some serious people watching, I want to go to a couple sessions. There will be one with Jake Lloyd, the child actor who played the child Anakin Skywalker. He is now 25. He supposedly has something to say about how the role influenced his career and his life. Might be interesting. Then Karen Gillam will speak about her time on the series "Dr. Who" as the companion Amy Pond. This is probably the one I'd like to see most. The last and probably the most difficult to get into the room to see will be the session with William Shatner. If I have to tell you who he is, well, you just need to go google it and then hang your head in shame... We will probably have dinner at some point after exiting the city limits of Indianapolis as we drive home. I really wish the session with James and Oliver Phelps (actors who portrayed Fred and George Weasley from the Harry Potter movies) was on Saturday but it is on Sunday and we have to be home. All in all, Friday will be a good day and I count myself luckier than many! So that you can feel lucky too I've included a poem for the March 2015 Scavenger Hunt using the prompt - “People have died from mere imagination” -Geoffrey Chaucer
To die from imagination
Is a glorious confirmation
That whimsy is necessary
To live as a visionary
To truly live with fascination
Not survive in near starvation
With atrophied sensation
Dreams in perpetual gestation
A state of mental constipation
Pity those who need defibrillation
To start the dream formation
Instead die of creative amputation
Afraid to let ideas undergo germination

I hope you enjoy your vacation, and the con. I can hardly wait to hear about it.
PS I didn't know today was Friday the 13th until I read your post.
So far we've had fun but it has rained all day! So no geocaching but the Art Museum was a delightful time spent indoors!
Have fun, Val Don't walk under ladders and keep an eye out for black cats.

Hehe! I'm glad you are in the know! I'm not near ladders or cats so there are no worries.
Love the Ogden Nashian poem -- so true! Have a great couple of 'triskaideka' days (sorry -- must be a mood of the day!) in Indy!
I am thrilled that you enjoyed my little poem! I must have had Mr. Nash looking over my shoulder while I wrote! hehehe!
Friday the 13th is no different, for me, than any other day. I enjoyed Indianapolis, when I lived there and the few times I have passed through, since then.
Indy has grown in the last couple of years. The roads have not kept up and traffic congestion is awful! But with that growth has come a more cosmopolitan atmosphere!
Have fun at ComiCon! I don't think I could handle the crowds.
I'm hoping it isn't too much of a crush. We enjoyed the art museum today - $5 parking and then free admission to the gallery.
